SURPRISE!!!!!!!!

I thought after the concert surprise
we wouldn't have any surprises for a while longer

.....well ........ I was wrong!

A week or so after the 311 concert, and to our great surprise,
we found out that 8 months later we would grow from a family of 2 to 3!

We were Pregnant
and due ironically on 3/11!

On the morning of March 7th we made our way to the hospital to welcome in our new addition.

Giving birth for the first time comes to a shock for most! Nothing can prepare you for what is about to happen!!!! During that crazy morning of pain and unfamiliarity we could not resist the perfect photo op to lighten our spirits and keep us going!

After 14 long hours of labor and 3 longer hours of pushing,
our baby finally joined the party.....
kicking and screaming the whole way of course!

Weighing 9lb 2oz & being 20 1/2 in long
it's no wonder it took that long!!!!!

He gave us a great performance here!

Probably from all the singing mom did the previous 9 months!

Congratulations!!! You're a DAD!!!!!

A much needed, and well deserved rest for mom and baby!

Rock on 311

Some of you know how picky Eric is
which makes surprises very hard to do.
I was so excited when I found the best surprise ever!

His favorite band is:
311!!!

They came to town in concert the summer of 2004!
As most newlyweds....we were broke and so Eric decided not to go!

Little did he know I had a plan up my sleeves!

I found out that a local radio station was giving away tickets
and I was determined to win some for us!!
One day while I was at work, my friend and I were listening
when it became time to call in to win.
This particular win would give us backstage passes
so we had the entire office on their phones calling!

What a thrill it was when we got through and won the tickets!!!!
I was ecstatic but wasn't ready to tell Eric quite yet!

That weekend we went to the restaurant PF Changs with some friends.
When they brought out the fortune cookies we all read ours out loud.
I opened mine and said

"Megan won backstage tickets to 311"

Of course Eric wasn't listening very carefully
so it took a minute to register what I had just said!
I have never seen his face in so much shock.
What a surprise!

Here we are in the car on our way to the concert!

Moab

I've decided to start our blog with a picture history. I would have started with our honeymoon cruise but someone accidently deleted our pictures before we downloaded them to our computer! Oh well!!! We had a fabulous time and recomend a "Honeymoon Cruise" to all. Everything is planned out for you which is great after planning a wedding!

The June after our wedding we decided we needed another vacation! We quickly planned a trip to Moab, Utah! A place that only Eric had been. Even though it was very hot we had so much fun camping, mountain biking, and hiking to see the amazing arch sites!
